CORMAK HBS275

The CORMAK HBS275 band saw for cutting tubes, profiles and bars is widely used in all locksmith and metalworking workshops where precision, quality and cutting speed matter. The model is equipped with a 0-60° swivel arm; the saw guides are based on sintered carbide. The frame construction ensures accurate and quiet operation.

Machine characteristics

The horizontal metal band saw with swivel arm enables cutting in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the material being cut and at any angle within the range from 0 to 60°. The material to be cut can be fed manually or by any mechanical device, while the tool feed is automatic. The blade guides are equipped with special carbide plates and bearings. This has a major impact on blade guidance, service life, straightness, accuracy and cutting quality. Carbide guidance greatly reduces wear of the machine and blade. The machine is equipped with an efficient coolant pump with a closed coolant circuit.

The saw arm is made of a single cast-iron casting and, together with the 27 mm wide cutting blade used in this saw, fully enables multi-series cutting of both profiles and solid materials. The vice is located in an adjustable bed and is equipped with a quick clamp. The blade guides are equipped with hard metal plates – sintered carbide and a rolling bearing system. It is precisely the SINTERED CARBIDE GUIDES that are responsible for the precision and straightness of the cut.

The arm has been inclined at an angle of 25°, which increases blade durability and improves cutting conditions. A cleaning brush is mounted at the bottom of the arm to achieve excellent cleanliness and blade operation. The machine drive is transmitted via a worm gearbox. The machine has a three-phase motor with two cutting speeds and motor thermal protection.

The shape of the upper part of the base forms a tray for draining coolant and collecting chips generated during material cutting. A cast-iron work table with a swivel arm and a control panel on a separate arm is mounted to the base. In the cutting process, the main cutting movement is the movement of the cutting blade, while the feed is the lowering of the arm. The arm lowering speed (cutting speed) is regulated by a hydraulic cylinder.

The feed speed is adjusted on the saw control panel. Two cutting blade speeds are available: 37.5 and 75m/min. In the lower position of the arm (after cutting the material), the cutting blade drive is switched off automatically. Safety is ensured by cutting blade guards and micro-switches that stop the motor after the cutting cycle is completed or when any guard is opened; additional protection consists of automatic shutdown of the saw in the event of cutting blade breakage.

The machine drive is transmitted by a motor with a worm gearbox.

The motor with thermal fuse protects against overheating during operation.
