The test pulse design is designed for long-term insulation tests on test objects with capacitances up to 6 nF.
Converter for High-Voltage Test Transformer
· Internal sine wave generator: 50-200 Hz.
· Pulse width modulation of the sine wave from 16-24 kHz via full bridge.
· Converter voltage adjustable from 0-600 V, Imax=2.6 A, maximum power 1.3 kW
· Pulse current limit 110 A (cut-off threshold)

· Full-bridge power supply adjustable from 0-1000 V, 1.3 A max.
· Pulse current limit 100 A (cut-off threshold)
Pulse width 20-120 μs, nominal 94 μs, adjustable
· 2 selectable series inductors (150 μH, 300 μH) to adjust the pulse width and rise time to the load capacitance and voltage.
· Pulse repetition frequency (0.1 – 2.5 kHz), adjustable.
· Polarity: Adjustable positive, negative, or alternating depending on the polarity of the sine signal.
· Cosine-shaped pulse at the transformer output
Pulse transformer cascade
· Output transformers in a 5-way cascade circuit.
· Total transformation ratio selectable as 1:7.7, 1:10, or 1:15 via taps.
Maximum output voltage 15 kV with possible load capacitances of: * 6 nF with a pulse width of 73 μs at a
repetition frequency of 2.5 kHz * 10 nF with a pulse width of 103 μs at a repetition frequency of 1.25 kHz
· 1:1000 parallel voltage divider.
· Overvoltage limitation at approx. 20-23 kV through parallel spark gaps.
· Thermistor for overtemperature detection in the first transformer stage.
· Ground-side current measurement socket 100 mV/A.
Breakdown detection, test
· If the maximum bridge currents for the transformer controls or
if the maximum currents of the bridge power supplies are exceeded, the high voltage is switched off.
· The device has a resettable operating hours counter to determine the test time.
