CNC milling machines are computer-aided with the help of special software (CAD/CAM) and enable various materials such as metal, plastic, foam, stone or wood to be processed precisely in a short space of time. The drawing or model created using the software will create the manufacturing process. For example, a prototype can be milled or the production of a series of standard parts can be started.
When the design is ready, the CNC control takes over the task of moving the horizontal and vertical axes throughout the machining process. The motor of the milling machine can be switched on directly at the start of the computer program under the supervision of the operator. This enables them to efficiently perform a large number of cutting, engraving, face milling or drilling operations by removing material on the surface or in depth to produce complex parts with high precision.
Digital milling technology enables operations with a high quality finish, a lower risk of wear of the machined parts and greater reliability, as the fragility of the manufactured products is reduced, even for parts with a small format or diameter. Thanks to a better configuration of operations, it offers the advantage of increasing production speed while maintaining optimum manufacturing quality.
