The Reitruder technology operates with co-rotating screws. We have adapted this twin-screw technology for use in direct extrusion lines—primarily for inline compounding. This integration combines several process steps into one.

Our Reitruder twin-screw technology processes high levels of additives and fillers. Instead of using pre-mixed compounds, fillers such as calcium carbonate or talc are continuously mixed in. Simultaneously, direct extrusion reduces energy costs compared to the conventional two-step compounding process. Without intermediate solidification and remelting of the plastic, the Reitruder processes materials from raw input to finished product in a single run.

Reitruder RZE 85
EXTRUSION
Among other innovations, the co-rotating twin-screw extruder Reitruder RZE 58 was the highlight of Reifenhäuser’s presentation at the NPE trade fair. A differentiated concept with new design elements was introduced. The screw geometry has been adapted to meet changing requirements by incorporating deeper channel depths and a redesigned feed section. These modifications improve feeding when processing PET flakes or regrind and increase the capacity for adding fillers. This results in significant advantages when processing lower-quality raw materials. Furthermore, increased degassing efficiency enables processing of material with moisture levels up to 0.5%. As a result, pre-drying requirements are minimized.
