The CDR press is designed for pressing and compressing railway wheelsets with guide bushings in a cold state. The device allows both assembly and disassembly of wheelsets for locomotives and railway cars, with simultaneous recording of the pressing force progression depending on the pressing length. After the pressing is completed, a report is printed for archiving the process.
The press is a horizontal, three-column construction that prevents the press from skewing under eccentric force application and ensures precise perpendicularity between the pressed wheel and the axle journal. The pressing cylinder rests on a support traverse that moves on wheels along two beams. The pressing force, depending on the type of wheelset, is captured by the support traverse at predetermined locked positions.
